  19. For a comparable performance in similar 14.4K class modems, and more,
  20. take a look at the ZyXEL 1496EPlus.  It does 19.2K if propriatery
  21. protocol is something you consider.  They have excellent capability of
  22. holding the line - great echo canceler.  Even if the other side is not a
  23. ZyXEL, it works great over noisy lines, offers cellular connection
  24. protocols up to 14.4K as well as 14.4K fax, and voice capability.

  26. When the firmware is ready, I will be able to recommend you the ZyXEL
  27. 2864 v.34 modem which you can upgrade by replacing the IO module to an
  28. ISDN modem with v.34 capability as well.  Eliminates noise on your end
  29. of the loop completely since it runs over the digital ISDN loop.
